General Endowment Fund
This perpetual fund enables the Board of Directors of Moravian Hall Square to address campus preservation needs, and to meet the ever-increasing costs of facility upkeep. Gifts to this fund will build the capita (General Fund’s corpus) so that earnings may be used at the discretion of the Board of Directors for both capital and operating needs at Moravian Hall Square.

Good Samaritan Endowment Fund
Established in 1989, the Good Samaritan Fund provides financial support for residents who have spent down their
financial resources in payment for health care. This fund provides all residents with “Care for Life” regardless of their ability to pay. Approximately 10% of Assisted Living residents utilize this benevolent support while one in six Health Center residents depend on financial aid for the daily cost of care.

Kortz Hall Endowment Fund
The purpose of this fund is to provide financial support for the maintenance and preservation of Kortz Hall, a large multi-purpose room used for worship, arts and enrichment events, and community programming. This room was named in honor and now in memory of the community’s first chaplin, The Right Reverend Edwin Kortz.

Staff Development Endowment Fund
We are aware that our community’s greatest asset, besides residents, is clearly the staff, who strive to make a positive difference in the lives of those served by this community. This fund helps to underwrite the cost of education tuition assistance for employees in all departments and at all levels of responsibility. Earnings from this fund are distributed to eligible employees based upon specific criteria by the community’s Education Assistance Committee, comprised of both residents and staff.
